Who is David C. Keever?

I am David C. Keever.  I have lived in Cartersville, Bartow County, Georgia all my life.  After graduating from Cartersville High School, I attended Kennesaw Junior College, the University of Georgia, and Woodrow Wilson College of Law.  I was sworn in to practice law in 1979, when I was 23 years old.  I have been in practice for over 41 years.  I practiced law with my father, Henry A. Keever, until his retirement in 1994.  For the most part, I have been a sole practitioner my entire professional career, which now spans over 41 years.

When I first started practicing law, I handled most all types of cases:  Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, Criminal Defense, Domestic, Divorce, Custody, Real Estate, Workers' Compensation and Civil Litigation.  In 2004, I had to care for my elderly father, until he passed.  I realized then that I did not want to return to the hectic practice that I had maintained before.  I had family that I wanted to spend time with.  I no longer wanted to schedule client appointments in 15-minute increments.  I wanted to spend more quality time with each of my clients.  And, I have done that.  In order to accomplish that goal, I cut back on the type of cases I accept.

My practice areas now are Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, Criminal Defense, Traffic Cases, DUI, and Civil Litigation.  These cases usually involve the Superior Courts, Probates Courts, Juvenile Courts, Magistrate Courts and Municipal Courts of Bartow County and our neighboring counties.  However, many matters are handled without a Court appearance.

I did not like the hectic practice I had back then and, as a new grandfather, I am not doing it now.  I continue to be a sole practitioner and the only lawyer in my office.  As a result of this, clients will not be limited to 15-minute appointments.  There will be no waiting in line for client appointments.  If we have to go to Court, you most likely will be the only client I have on the calendar.  As your attorney, my promise to you is that you will have my undivided attention.

Once hired, you will get my personal contact information.  You will be able to reach me by my office number, cell number, text or email.
